I wouldn't go as far as Rajaji does in condescending towards Postural Yoga. It has its merits. But it is worthwhile to take a step back and rediscover what Yoga really ought to mean and rescue it from those who wish to market it as a panacea for all bodily ills

In Vedas the summer solstice marks the day Indra slays Vritra and releases the seven rivers to flow into the sea. Indra is the Purusha or seer. Vritra is the power of ignorance (avidya). The seven cosmic streams merge into the ocean of Consciousness. A clearly yogic metaphor.

Postcolonial theory allows upper-caste intellectuals to maintain privilege in both India and the US. The Indian educational systems whose benefits disproportionately accrue to the upper castes allowed these intellectuals to make the transition to the west. 10/16
Once there, shocked at not receiving the privilege they had back home, postcolonial theory was invented. This theory was used to critique white elites, since it allowed them to position themselves as the brown voice of the subaltern in western academia (e,g, Spivak, Bhabha) 11/16
