Bharata Federation as the nucleus of World Union

There are many strong votaries of mother language but they are yet to be convinced about Sovereignty to the States of India. #BharataFederation as the nucleus of #WorldUnion is sure to supply momentum to realisation of the #FiveDreams of Sri Aurobindo broadcast on August 14, 1947

Tomorrow is #WorldUnion Day:
Nov 26, 1958: J. Smith & Anil Mukherjee formed New World Union
May 1959: A.B. Patel joined
April 23, 1960: name was changed to World Union
August 20, 1964: The Mother became the President  and Surendra Mohan Ghosh, the Chairman

1. #Hinduism does not 'Compete' with Faith based belief systems. It is a lived, experiential, empirical, direct realization of The Immanent Being pervading & transcending the Multiverse with  many valid paths.
2. Emic perspectives are inadequate & incompetent to comment on this.

Exact reason why I cringe when someone calls Sanatana Dharma as philosophy...and equate it to the various other ‘philosophies’! Philosophy as a certain mental construct that states a certain position as compared to an experiential state of consciousness are chalk and cheese
Adi Shankara philosophised discovery of the One Immanent pervading all..And classified it as Advaitha..but the experience preceded the mental formulation..so any two but idiot comes claiming to be an advaitin, we wonder whether their mind accepted the idea or if they experienced!
I feel a similar view is also imposed on the ancient Greeks..especially Heraclitus...one feels him being tantalisingly close to discovery of the Agni principle...Sri Aurobindo covers him in a set of essays..shift the western lens, apply symbolic thinking and he is one of us!

Sri Aurobindo's Savitri: An Apocalyptic Literature
— Prof. Dr Madhumati M. Kulkarni
ISBN: 978-81-93953-80-8
Publisher: Academy of Comparative Philosophy and Religion, Belgaum Binding: Soft Cover Pages: 370 Price: Rs 575
This book is a study of Sri Aurobindo’s Savitri based on the concept of revelatory visions of the future of mankind. Taking a scholarly approach to the subject, the author includes chapters defining the genre of apocalyptic literature and its mystic or spiritual basis, and Savitri as an Indian illustration of the genre. Subsequent chapters examine the revelatory aspects of the poem in relation to the true nature and purpose of the human being, the mystery of consciousness on the mental, vital, and physical planes, and the hidden meaning of consciousness on the planes of the higher mind, the illumined mind, the plane of intuition, the overmind, and the supramental.

Sri Aurobindo's Commentaries on Krishna, Buddha, Christ and Ramakrishna
Their Role in the Evolution of Humanity
— Wilfried Huchzermeyer
ISBN: 978-81-939500-0-5
Publisher: Prisma, Auroville, in collaboration with Verlag W. Huchzermeyer, Germany Binding: Soft Cover Pages: 115 Price: Rs 300
In this short work, the author studies the various statements and commentaries made by Sri Aurobindo, and a few by the Mother, on the life and work of these Avatars of the past. The interpretations revealed in these commentaries indicate that he saw all four as messengers who came to earth with a special mission, to support and accelerate the evolution of humanity in a particular way. The chapters discuss what Sri Aurobindo has written in his major works and in his letters to disciples on each of the four Avatars, beginning with Krishna, who played a significant part in Sri Aurobindo’s own sadhana. Comments by the Mother shed additional light on these subjects.

Namaskar Krishna,
Thanks for your comments! As you may agree, the true meaning of our scriptures can only be known in the depths of our inner experience. What is expressed in human language is always subject to our interpretation. This, however, doesn't imply that all interpretations are allowed. But it's also true that our scriptures can have multiple valid interpretations. As Sri Ramakrishna used to say, the formless God is my father and God with form is my mother.

Part 5/5: 25 Year Journey - Emotional vs Competitive
Rajiv describes the problem of many Hindus who want to participate but are over-emotional and inadequate in producing output at world standards of scholarship. Many activists are emerging without the tapasya, experience, rigor to become good scholars. But the community lacks this understanding and considers popularity as the benchmark of being an intellectual. He discusses what is at stake and the way forward.

Asian historicism before Protestantism
by Amod Lele
We are surely familiar with the pattern by now: members of an Asian tradition are concerned about supposed corruptions in their tradition which depart from the intentions of the tradition's historic founders, so they turn with renewed focus to the historical texts that they take to be at the tradition's centre. We, with our historical hindsight, now know that this Asian concern with texts and founders is an alien importation, the work of colonial subjects aping their Protestant missionary rulers' search for textual historicity. Except for one thing: it isn't.

Who is afraid of ‘Philosophy’ in India?— A guest post by Mrinal Kaul
I think a subject like philosophy is particularly seen as intimidating by institutions because it teaches us the art of questioning with rigour. Philosophical robustness, for instance, also teaches us how to question hegemony—that is traditionally so deeply ingrained in the ‘philosophy’ of educational institutions in India. A democratic institution is an organized idea in a structured form. Institutions should not be afraid of ideas, rather they should learn how to engage with ideas and also create opportunities for others for discussing ideas from different points of view.
Institutions need vision. And this vision is not cultivated overnight. A number of struggling minds over a longer period of time with the help of all like-minded supporters gradually develop into a vision that eventually takes the shape of an ideal institution. These institutions need to develop their own vision over a period of time without which they would be running a mindless mind... It is not that the Sanskrit sources ‘are’ hegemonic, but we have supplied this hegemony to them very generously. And we have also done this rather by neglecting the non-Sanskrit sources for too long... In fact, the Sanskrit sources themselves are hardly explored properly and many a times terribly misinterpreted in the popular discourse. This should call for more serious engagement with a subject like philosophy in Indian universities where emphasis should be laid on the robustness of curriculums rather than getting away with philosophy courses. What the newly formed liberal arts institutions in the country should understand is how to learn to be self-critical.

A good article by @TheJaggi but there's no real religious freedom in the USA. No sky burial to a Parsi. A Hindu cannot immerse cremation ashes in rivers. Both are religious beliefs. Religious freedom is allowed so long as it isn't repulsive to Christians: https://t.co/emhdD3FUbK

Two-Nation Theory is misconceived by a lot of people as an exclusively religious argument. Consequently, opponents bring in different aspects of pre-partition India to counter it and attempt to make it irrelevant in modern era. This thread addresses that misconception. 1/N

The issue is Islam is a fossilised medieval religion that abhors any evolution. World evolves and thinking humans born into islam want to live in progressive societies like India. Fundamentalists can live in Pakistan. See which is progressing?

Much of the Hindu-Muslim tension would have gone if d present day  muslims acknowledged the massacre done by these fanatics in the name of Islam. Instead they r arrogant n blind. Unity will come only when they stop denying these massacres n forced conversions.

Bhai, better not to name than to give an inaccurate or shoddy impression. Referring to Sri Aurobindo as a mere "eminent philosopher" & claiming he "emphasized equality" is to engage in Westernized Left-Liberal appropriation of the greatest exponent of Yoga who has ever been born.

Most uninspiring & weak "tribute". No doubt personally authored by masala chaiwala himself with help from some other equally ignorant but slightly more articulate personal secretaries. https://t.co/Gcay0mXYmv

Tributes to the great Sri Aurobindo Ji on his Jayanti. He was a prolific thinker and exceptional philosopher whose ideals inspire millions. He emphasised on human dignity and equality. Sri Aurobindo was also a devout nationalist who had grand dreams for our nation.

In his Uttarpara speech, when Sri Aurobindo explains how Sri Krishna visited him in the jail, he says Sri Krishna gave him an aadesh to work for spiritual destiny of India. In return, he promised him India's liberation. Otherwise, Sri Aurobindo was not ready to leave the movement
